Our Team

Don Westerhoff, a founder of Financial Services of Bradenton, had been involved in the insurance and financial services industry for more than 40 years. Don was a graduate of Bethel University in St Paul, Minnesota, with a major in communication and a minor in business. He started in the life insurance business and gravitated to the investment side of financial planning as that industry continued to grow and diversify.

Wealth management and retirement planning became an integral part of Don’s life as he worked with hundreds of clients over his career. In 1982, due to a series of health issues, Don sold his agency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and moved to Florida. After a few years of rest and recuperation, Don found himself answering questions from friends and acquaintances more frequently relating to insurance, retirement and investing. This encouraged him to get back into business, on a smaller scale, but making himself available to guide people with their financial decisions.

Don retired from Financial Services of Bradenton and the end of 2024. He and his wife Lynne are enjoying time with their extended family and are still involved at their church.

Darin is a graduate of Bethel University in Arden Hills, Minnesota, with a major in business administration and minors in mathematics and economics. After college, he found himself in the consumer lending side of finance, which provided a foundation in personal finance and a means to transfer to the warm climate of Florida.

As time marched on, Darin found his path led him to the business world through the involvement with a professional employer organization. In 1995, Darin was able to utilize his education, experience, and desire to help people by becoming a financial advisor. As his education continued, he became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^® practitioner in 2001.

In addition to enjoying the relationships that have been developed with clients, many who have become friends, Darin enjoys playing golf and still participates in church softball. He and his wife also like to travel (especially cruises and to Disney locations), and spending time with their son, daughter-in-law, and the family dog, Sparkle Grace.

Shari is a graduate of Bethel University in Arden Hills, Minnesota. She is married and has a wonderful son, daughter-in-law, and a beagle puppy named Sparkle Grace.

Shari began her working life while in high school in the family business. She continues working in the family business today as the office administrator for her husband, Darin Pierce, and her father, Don Westerhoff.
